I’m definitely not a doctor…hated science in high school…barely passed physics and chemistry in college…I’m more of a pianist…writer(?!)…creative type…But I have learned that certain foods are good for certain whatever-might-ails-you’s.As far as Antioxidants go, studies have shown that the following foods contain the most antioxidants…and as result possibly better help to defend your cells from damage caused by free radicals, potentially harmful molecules. These free radicals often accumulate, causing oxidative stress., damaging your DNA and other important structures in your cells, and increasing your risk of chronic diseases—such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer.Including more fruits and veggies can be very benefitcial in raising your antioxidant levels and preventing oxidative stress.
Foods that have been found to have the highest antioxidant levels include…
- Fruits…cranberries, blueberries, and blackberries
- Nuts…pecans, walnuts and hazelnuts
- Spices…ground cloves, ground cinnamon and oregano
- Vegetables…beans, artichokes and Russet potatoes
